Frequently Asked Questions
What is a CTP claim?
A Compulsory Third Party (CTP) claim is an insurance claim made after a motor vehicle accident (MVA) in Queensland. It can help cover the cost of the medical and psychological treatment related to injuries sustained in the accident.
Can I access psychology sessions through my CTP claim?
Yes. If your insurer approves psychological treatment as part of your claim, your sessions can usually be covered under your CTP insurance.
Which insurers do you work with?
We work with all Queensland CTP insurers, including Suncorp, Allianz, RACQ and QBE.
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
In most cases, you will need approval from your CTP insurer before commencing treatment. A referral from your GP or treating doctor may also support your care plan.

Once treatment has been approved by your insurer, psychology sessions are generally covered under your claim, meaning there are typically no out-of- pocket expenses.
How long are the sessions?
Our sessions are 50 minutes long.
Can you communicate directly with my insurer or solicitor?
Yes. With your consent, our team can liaise directly with your insurer, rehabilitation provider, GP or solicitor to support you with your treatment.
What if my claim has not been approved yet?
You are welcome to contact us to discuss your situation. We can explain the process and help you understand the next steps for accessing psychology services under a CTP claim.
Are Telehealth sessions covered by my claim?
Yes. If you have approval, telehealth sessions will be covered. We have several providers that can work with you on a telehealth-only basis.
What should I expect from my first psychology session?
Your first session will focus on understanding you, your motor vehicle experience, your current symptoms and your recovery goals. From there, your psychologist will support you in developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
