Peta Griffiths

Clinical Psychology Registrar

Peta is a compassionate and client-centred psychologist who provides a warm, empathetic, and holistic approach to care.

Peta is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Peta is passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where you feel genuinely safe, heard and understood. Her priority is to build a strong rapport with you and to foster a sense of safety from the very beginning. She understands that reaching out for support can feel daunting and she honours the courage it takes to begin. â€‹

Peta has a particular interest in attachment, relationships and anxiety. Whether you are navigating overwhelm or burnout, feeling stuck in self-criticism or wanting to better understand and communicate your needs in relationships, Peta works collaboratively with you to clarify your goals and build the skills that will help you to move toward what matters most.

Peta is currently accepting referrals for young people and adults (16+), supporting concerns such as:

  • Anxiety and Low Self-Esteem: Working with clients to recognise patterns of self-criticism and build self-belief; identify the triggers to their anxiety, regulate their emotions and gain a sense of control to support in daily life.

  • Depression: Helping clients to explore the underlying causes of their low mood and self-worth and cultivate greater self-compassion, confidence, and motivation.

  • Relationship and Interpersonal Difficulties: Supporting clients wanting to understand attachment or communication differences to help foster deeper connection within their personal and professional relationships.

  • Emotional Dysregulation and Stress: Supporting clients to understand and manage overwhelming emotions and adopt healthy coping strategies to support daily functioning.

  • Sleep Difficulties: Using a holistic and lifestyle approach, helping clients to restore healthy sleep patterns and have a renewed sense of energy.

Peta draws from evidence-based therapies depending on your individual needs and preferences, including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

Peta has a relaxed, empathic therapeutic style. She brings warmth, authenticity and, where appropriate, gentle humour into the room to help you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, feelings and needs. She believes that meaningful change happens within a trusting therapeutic relationship and works intentionally to build a shared understanding of your experiences.

Above all, Peta believes therapy should feel like a space where you can show up exactly as you are. She is currently available for appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and looks forward to supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
