Alex strives to take an empathetic, curious, and evidence-based approach in psychotherapy, and help clients live a meaningful life.

Alex is available on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Alex is a neurodiversity affirming and trauma-informed clinician who has experience supporting clients with mood disorders, anxiety, psychosis, and personalities vulnerabilities including BPD.

 

Alex has a special interest in working with people who have difficulties with regulating their emotions and attachment, engage in suicidal and self-harming behaviours and those having experienced trauma. Alex is passionate about helping people navigate their internal and external worlds and live a personally meaningful life.

Alex is currently accepting referrals and supports children, adolescents and adults supporting concerns such as:

  • Personality Disorders & BPD: supporting emotional regulation, interpersonal challenges and reducing engagement in self-harm and suicidal behaviours.  

  • Neurodiversity: Offering neuro-affirming support for clients with Autism, through reflective exploration, self-understanding and skill-building (Please note: Alex does not provide neuropsychological assessments or diagnostic reports. For comprehensive assessments, refer to our Cognitive Testing page).

  • Parents and Caregivers: Alex enjoys working with parents/ caregivers of children and has experience supporting families through family therapy. Alex is a Circle of Security Parenting facilitator and an accredited Standard Triple P Provider. 

  • Anxiety Disorders & OCD: helping clients to understand and manage various forms of anxiety, including social and generalised anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). 

  • Mood Disorders: supporting clients to manage mood fluctuations (including depression and mania) and work towards greater stability. 

  • Schizophrenia & Psychosis: supporting clients to understand and manage symptoms of psychosis, with a focus on stability, insight and improved daily functioning. 

Alex utilises a variety of different approaches, including:

  • Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CTB)

  • Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Family Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Psychosis (CBT-P).

Alex completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at Monash University and a Doctor of Clinical Psychology at The University of Queensland. She is entering private practice after spending time working in community mental health within the public sector.
