Psychological therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and individualised therapy combining elements of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing and e-Mental Health

Ryan IS able to prescribe medications for mental health conditions such as anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medications, mood stabilisers, anti-psychotics and medications to regulate sleep.

Ryan does NOT prescribe medications for ADHD, substance use and dependence problems, weight loss or Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy
Accreditation and Training
Since graduating medical school in 2011, Ryan spent his first 4 years as a hospital-based doctor and during this time he gained valuable experience in the in- and out-patient mental health departments of the Caboolture, Royal Brisbane, Princess Alexandra and Mackay Base Hospitals. Ryan spent a year as a Psychiatry Registrar specialising in the care of patients with mental illness.

Since 2016 he has been working in General Practice where his clinical interests are in mental health and sexual health. Ryan is a Fellow of the Royal College Australian College of General Practitioners and has completed additional training in psychotherapy with the Australian Society for Psychological Medicine, the Black Dog Institute and the RACGP.
His work in Psychiatry and in General Practice have given him advanced knowledge and skills in prescribing medications for mental health conditions.
Availability
Ryan is available for appointments on Tuesdays and Fridays and currently is accepting clients onto his waitlist.

It is a practice policy that government regulated medications such as benzodiazepines (e.g. Valium) will NOT be prescribed on the first visit.
